Calcasieu Parish Woman Arrested for Stabbing

A Calcasieu Parish woman is behind bars for stabbing a man in the chest. Calcasieu Parish Sheriff's Office deputies say they responded to a stabbing on Guernsey Drive in Ragley at approximately 11:45 Thursday night. Deputies say they discovered the victim had been stabbed in the chest following a domestic altercation with Wendy A. Istre, 33 years old, of Ragley. Medical emergency personnel responded and transported the victim to a local hospital for treatment for a punctured lung and he is currently listed in stable condition.
Istre was arrested and booked into Calcasieu Correctional Center and charged with attempted second degree murder.
Judge Michael Canaday set her bond at $100,000.
