Calcasieu man accused of having child porn

A Lebleu Settlement man is accused of downloading child pornography. Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations arrested Charles B. Compton, 41, in Calcasieu Parish on Wednesday. State Police investigators recovered a computer and other devices from Compton and forensic tests revealed child porn, Sgt. James Anderson said.

If convicted, Compton faces up to a $50,000 fine and could serve between five to 20 years in prison without benefit of parole, probation, or suspension of sentence.

His arrest was part of Operation Child Watch to rescue children from child predators. Under the operation, investigators target people who have sexually explicit images and/or videos on their computers.
