The nationwide search for a new superintendent of Calcasieu Parish schools is officially underway.
The American Press reports the Superintendent Search Committee approved minimum qualifications Wednesday for applicants and established a salary of $150,000 per year for the position.
The new superintendent, who will be tentatively hired by mid-July, will also receive existing benefits and a vehicle allowance. Superintendent Wayne Savoy made $150,723 in 2012.
Savoy asked the board last month to begin searching for his replacement immediately.
