LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns men's basketball will take part in the MGM Grand Main Event just prior to Thanksgiving in the upcoming season, and will take on Oral Roberts and either Milwaukee or a team to be determined in a pair of neutral-site games as part of its non-conference schedule.
The Cajuns will take on Oral Roberts on Monday, November 24, at 1:30 p.m. (PT), and then battle either the winner or loser of Milwaukee and a team to be determined on Wednesday, November 26 at either 11:00 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. (PT).
Hosted in the 16,000-seat MGM Grand Garden Arena, the MGM Grand Main Event is a new tournament featuring two four-team brackets. The Ragin' Cajuns will be in the "Middleweight Bracket" along with Oral Roberts, Milwaukee and a team still to be announced.
The pairings for both brackets were announced on Tuesday morning on ESPN.com and the action will tip off in Las Vegas on Monday, November 24.
The Cajuns will also play a pair of road games prior to, and associated with, the MGM Grand Main Event, traveling to Tulsa on November 17 and to Auburn on November 21. Both the Tigers and Golden Hurricane will participate in the "Heavyweight Bracket" when they arrive in Las Vegas, along with Oklahoma State and Oregon State.
This is the first of two in-season events to be played at the MGM Grand Garden Arena this season, with the second annual MGM Grand Garden Showcase scheduled for Dec. 20 with Oklahoma vs Washington and UNLV vs Utah scheduled as the two match-ups in the one-day event.
