Cajuns Complete Second Practice In New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS - The Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns held their second practice in the Mercedes-Benz Superdome on Thursday as the team moved closer to its Saturday night showdown against Tulane in the 2013 R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl.

The Cajuns, who will face Tulane in an 8 p.m. contest that will be televised nationally on ESPN, worked out for approximately 90 minutes on the Superdome turf before head coach Mark Hudspeth and selected players took part in the Media Day luncheon. Joining Hudspeth at Media Day were seniors Justin Anderson, Andre Huval and Daryl Surgent along with juniors Alonzo Harris and Trevance Patt.

"Our guys came to practice today really focused," Hudspeth said. "I really think this team is anxious to play. I think it showed in our preparation today."

Following the Media Day festivities, the team split up into two groups with the majority of the squad visiting the National WWII Museum. The Cajuns' senior class, led by Hudspeth, took part in a tour of Children's Hospital where they handed out gifts, signed autographs and brightened the spirits of the patients they visited.

"We had a great practice followed by a great trip to Children's Hospital with the senior class," Hudspeth said. "It sort of brings you back down to Earth. Visiting there makes you feel how fortunate you are and we were glad to go there and put some smiles on faces and give them encouragement. It was a great trip."

"WE BACK AGAIN!" PARADE SCHEDULED FOR 9 P.M. THURSDAY
With kickoff set for nearly 48 hours away, Louisiana Ragin' Cajuns fans descending on New Orleans are encouraged to attend the "We're Back Again!" Parade that is scheduled for a 9 p.m. start at the Marriott Hotel on Canal Street.
