NEW ORLEANS, La. - The contest between the sixth-ranked Ragin' Cajuns baseball team and Tulane at Turchin Stadium has been moved to Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. due to heavy rain in the New Orleans area on Tuesday.
The Cajuns (13-2) are coming off of a sweep of Texas Southern this past weekend and have won nine of their last 10 games. The 13-2 record is the best start 15-game start for the Cajuns since 2005 when the team opened with a 14-1 record.
The team rose in all five polls this week with the highest ranking being No.6 in the Baseball America poll. The Cajuns are also 10th in Collegiate Baseball and the USA Today Coaches poll, and 11th in NCBWA and Perfect game.
Louisiana is hitting .273 as a team with Seth Harrison pacing the squad at .333 with four doubles, two triples, a home run and 10 RBI.
Senior Cody Boutte will make the start for the Ragin' Cajuns. Boutte is 1-0 on the season with a 6.75 ERA in 9.1 innings. He will face Tulane's Corey Merrill.
The Green Wave (9-5) went 1-2 this past weekend in California. Tulane dropped back-to-back games to Arkansas and San Francisco to close out the tournament.
The Ragin' Cajuns hold a 43-42 edge all-time against the Green Wave, but Tulane has had the recent success winning seven of the last nine meetings.
After the Tulane contest, the Cajuns will head to ULM for a three-game series to open Sun Belt Conference play starting Friday at 6 p.m.
