SHREVEPORT, La. (AP) - Caddo Parish School District officials are recommending the use of $6.2 million in surplus funds to balance the 2012-2013 budget.
The recommendation comes after parents expressed unhappiness with scheduling changes designed to save about $7 million.
The Times reports that not all board members are happy with the recommendation, which was made at a Thursday work session. Board member Larry Ramsey said he was disappointed to see the district looking to alleviate budget problems by using surplus funds.
