Caddo Parish couple die in house fire

GREENWOOD, La. (AP) - State Fire Marshal Butch Browning says an elderly Caddo Parish couple died in a fire at their Greenwood home.
Browning identified the victims as Elgin Elliot and Mary Elliot, both 83.
He said the couple's bodies were reportedly found in the bedroom area of the home Monday night. Both were taken to LSU Health Sciences Center, where they were later pronounced dead.
The cause of the fire is under investigation
Browning said the Caddo Parish Coroner's Office will perform an autopsy to determine the couple's cause of death.
