CHOUDRANT, La. (AP) - Former President George W. Bush is scheduled to be in northeastern Louisiana as the featured speaker of the annual Squire Creek Peach Festival Luncheon in Choudrant.
The News-Star reported that trucking and energy magnate James Davison, whose family owns Squire Creek Golf Club, lured the two-term Republican president to Monday's luncheon, which kicks off the annual Peach Festival in Lincoln Parish.
The former president's staff asked his appearance not be publicized. His name wasn't listed on the tickets, which sold out within hours.
The event is private and closed to the media.
