Bus accident sends nine students to hospital

There was bus accident in Evangeline parish around 4:00 pm this afternoon. A bus transporting Ville Platte school zone students was stopped when a vehicle hit the bus from behind.
According to Evangeline Parish Superintendent Toni Hamlin a bus was stopped and students were beginning to exit the vehicle when it was hit from behind.
Evangeline Parish transportation liaison is on the scene and is reporting to the Evangeline parish superintendent. He says nine students are being transported to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was also transported and the injuries for that person is unknown at this time. According to the superintendent state police is on the way to the scene.
