Bus Accident In Evangeline Parish: State Police: "No serious injuries."

A bus carrying 35 school children ended up on it's side in a ditch this morning on highway 1165 outside of Chataignier. According to State Police the driver failed to properly navigate a curve in the road, overcorrected and the bus toppled over. The kids, 29 from the local elementary school and 5 from Ville Platte High, were taken to a hospital to be checked out, but there are no serious injuries.
The driver has been cited for careless operation of a vehicle.
