Burglary and property damage at Crawfish Warehouse in Roanoke

Earlier today, deputies in Jeff Davis Parish, responded to Peto's Truck Stop in reference to suspicious person.

Deputies say, 37 year old Alberto Ramirez, of Splendora, Tx., arrived at the truck stop in the early morning hours in a white van. While at the truck stop, one of the security guards said Ramirez appeared to be intoxicated, and was going truck to truck in an attempt to get a ride by one of the driver's.

While in the area, Ramirez walked to the crawfish warehouse located next door. There, he entered a school bus, damaging the door and the camera recording equipment. Ramirez later entered two other vehicles on the property. When Peto's security, approached Ramirez, he stated he worked there and drove away in the vehicle. It was later confirmed the vehicle Ramirez originally arrived in was stolen out of Calcasieu Parish.

After completing the initial reports, it was learned that Troopers attempted to stop the vehicle I-10 eastbound at Essen Ln. in Baton Rouge. Ramirez refused to stop and continued traveling eastbound. When they reached Exit 173, the Donaldsonville/Prairieville exit, Ramirez stopped and was taken into custody for reckless operation, DWI, Flight, and open container.

Ramirez was booked in & out of Ascension Parish Sheriff's Office and then transported to East Baton Rouge Parish. Ramirez is currently being held on those charges, as well as detainer holds for Harris County Texas for an active felony theft warrant and also for unknown warrant in Alabama. Charges will be pending on damages and thefts that occurred in Jefferson Davis Parish.
