Bunkie woman accused of running over boy, woman

BUNKIE, La. (AP) A Bunkie woman is accused of running over a 40-year-old New Iberia woman and a 7-year-old boy during an argument, then leaving town.
Lt. Ryan Turner, a spokesman for the Iberia Parish sheriff, says Bunkie police arrested 22-year-old Candice Marie Gorrell on Monday at her home, on Iberia Parish charges.
He said she allegedly slapped a 22-year-old woman in an argument about a 1974 Monte Carlo, which Gorell said was hers, then got into the car and ran over the woman's mother and 7-year-old son.
He was not sure of their condition Monday.
According to Turner, Gorell hit a stop sign as she tried to leave, got out of the Monte Carlo and drove off in another car believed to be a white Cadillac.
