KATC has teamed up with The Family Tree and Acadian Open Channel (AOC) for a one of a kind campaign in Acadiana: "Bullying Stops With Me!"
"Bullying Stops With Me is a campaign aimed at stopping bullying in our community," said Dr. Dena Moore, CEO of The Family Tree.
In addition to public service announcements running on AOC and KATC, the campaign also sets out to help those impacted by bullying.
"We'll have a 24 hour hotline for people to call in," said Moore.
The support goes beyond PSA's and the hotline. A website has also been created to make this venture truly a community cause. By clicking here you can make donations to keep the campaign alive and contribute on another scale, by sharing your own story about how bullying has affected you.
"The way that technology is growing with YouTube and everything, we're going to have a full YouTube channel where inviduals will be able to submit their own videos right to this campaign," said AOC's Stephen Handwerk.
The "Bullying Stops With Me!" hotline is: 337-322-4525. All calls are confidential and experts are available to help 24/7.
