Bullet hits Jeanerette home

A bullet hit a house Wednesday night on Provost St. in Jeanerette, but police don't know who's responsible for firing the weapon, Chief Marvin Grogan said. An 80-year-old man and his 50-year-old daughter were inside the house but were unharmed. The bullet hit the frame of the house, but didn't penetrate the frame.

The chief said it wasn't a drive-by shooting, instead he believes juveniles were firing a gun near the railroad tracks and he doesn't believe people inside the home were targets.
