A bulldozer is ripping into the fountain area at Center Court in Acadiana Mall as part of upgrades at the shopping center. Renovations, announced last month, will bring a multitude of updates, including a newly designed food court with new tables and chairs, soft seating in common areas, and upgraded restrooms. "This 'facelift' will bring some nice updates to our shopping center and we think our customers will really love these improvements," said Bryan LeBlanc, the property's general manager."
CBL & Associates Properties, Inc. owns and manages the property and last month renamed the mall back to its original name "Acadiana Mall." "When the prior developer changed the name a few years ago, it didn't really catch on. But with all of these changes in the works, it makes sense to take the old name that people know us by and make it new again," LeBlanc said. The shopping center was named "Acadiana Mall" from 1979 until 2004. Other updates include, fresh paint, new décor, new outdoor landscaping and updated entrances.
Renovations are expected to be completed in November ahead of the holiday shopping season. The plans to have a celebration for shoppers with special events, prizes, and other activities. "It's going to be an exciting time for Acadiana Mall and all of our shoppers," LeBlanc said.
