Broussard man arrested for alleged rape

A Broussard man is in jail for allegedly raping a 14-year-old girl.

On October 5, 2012, the St. Landry Parish Sheriff's Office received a call in reference to an alleged simple rape.

Investigators learned that the mother of the girl arrived home only to find a thirty-five year old male, Todd Strodtman, half dressed in her daughter's bedroom. According to authorities, after the mother confronted Strodtman, he fled the home.

According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, The juvenile was taken to a local hospital.

Invetigators say Strodtman brought alcohol to the residence.

Sheriff Guidroz stated the suspect was arrested in Lafayette and charged with simple rape due to the age of the victim and the alcohol he provided. Due to the nature of this case, no further information will be released.
