Brothers Found Dead in Home South of Monroe

MONROE, La. (AP) - Ouachita Parish sheriff's deputies continued their investigating into a double homicide that left two brothers dead.

Maj. Jason Pleasant said the deaths were reported around 10 p.m. Friday.

The News-Star reports Pleasant would not say how the men died.

Pleasant said the bodies of 38-year-old Russell Atkins of Monroe and 41-year-old Dexter Burkhalter of Winnsboro were found at Atkins' home south of Monroe.

Pleasant said the deaths are believed to be drug-related.
