A Lafayette native is looking to bring life to an abandoned business property on the Hub City's northside.
Shawn Broaddus will open Broaddus Burgers at the former Sonic location on Moss Street.
The Carencro High and UL graduate says restaurant will feature curbside, drive-in service similar to the old A&W restaurants of years past. Broaddus Burgers, he says, will offer beef, turkey, veggie, and tuna burgers. In addition, Broaddus says his menu will feature milk shakes and protein shakes.
The 25-year-old entrepreneur says this venture is a dream come true.
"I knew from a young age that I wanted to open my own business," Broaddus said. "When the building became available, I decided I wanted to start a business in Upper Lafayette."
Broaddus Burgers is set to open on March 17.
