A man accused of robbing a Pine Prairie bank has been convicted. Evangeline Parish District Attorney Trent Brignac says Brian Keith Soileau was convicted today of the armed robbery for the incident which took place one year ago today at Citizen's Bank. Soileau was scheduled to stand trial next week, but he changed his plea to "guilty." In addition to the armed robbery charge, Soileau was convicted of theft of a firearm, simple burglary, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and illegal use of a weapon. Soileau will be sentenced on November 29. He faces a total of 143 years in prison.
Charges are still pending against Soileau for his escape from Pine Prairie Prison last October and for his alleged robbery of another bank shortly thereafter.
