Breaux Bridge woman accused of bringing contraband into jail

Today, prohibited contraband was discovered in the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in Breaux Bridge. According to authorities, Denise Songy, 41, of Breaux Bridge, was allegedly conspiring with an incarcerated inmate to smuggle prohibited contraband into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center in Breaux Bridge. She was arrested this afternoon without incident and booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center on the following charge:
La.R.S. 14:402 Contraband; Contraband in Penal Institutions Prohibited.
