Breaux Bridge Man Arrested in Connection with Stabbing

On March 31, 2010, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call from St. MartinHospital regarding a walk-in patient that appeared to be suffering from stab wounds. Upon further investigation, Detectives learned that the incident occurred in the Butte LaRose area where one person was stabbed during an altercation. Billy James Hanks, 43, Breaux Bridge, La., was arrested and booked into St. MartinParishCorrectionalCenter for Attempted Second Degree Murder and is being held on a $200,000 bond.

At this time, the victim remains in critical condition at a local hospital.
