Breaux Bridge Army Sergeant Arrested on Desertion Charges

A Breaux Bridge man is awaiting extradition to Fort Polk on charges he deserted the United States Army. Lafayette police arrested Sergeant Joshua Credeur during a Sunday evening traffic stop. Army officials say Sergeant Credeur, an infantryman with Charlie Company at Fort Polk, abandoned his post on September 8 with the intent of not returning. Army officials add Credeur's commander will determine whether or not he will be sent to a court martial.
