Boxes overflowed with cozy gifts of comfort for the women seeking shelter at Faith House of Acadiana.
Women's & Children's Hospital's Elaine M. Junca Women's Imaging Centre on Monday, Oct. 8 donated more than 350 pink robes to the Lafayette battered women's and children's shelter. The gently used robes being transitioned out of service at the Centre made a warm, soothing and timely gift as the first cool snap settles in across Acadiana.
"We couldn't think of a better place to receive the robes," said Mary Reed, Women's Imaging Centre director. "They will give the ladies at Faith House something to help keep warm and cozy as the temperatures decrease and we head into the winter months."
Jessica Frazier, Faith House operations manager, was on hand at the Women's Imaging Centre on Monday to receive the donation.
"The ladies are really going to appreciate this," she said.
