BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) Baton Rouge Police say a 16-year-old boy has died after being accidentally shot in the neck by one of his friends.
Chris Vaughn and two of his friend were playing with a gun Saturday about 3 p.m. outside a home. Police say the gun discharged when one of the friends accidentally pulled the trigger, striking Vaughn in the neck.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Advocate reported Sunday that the victim's uncle, Duke Bradley, said his nephew was a sophomore at McKinley High School, where he played on the football team.
The shooter's identity has not been released and the incident remains under investigation.
