Boyce couple booked with murder in child's death

ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - A Boyce mother and her boyfriend face murder charges in connection with the death of the woman's 21-month-old child.
Rapides Parish sheriff's deputies say 24-year-old Jaymes Lamar Harris and 20-year-old Porshia LaRue Miller have been booked with second-degree murder.
Deputy Stephen Phillips tells The Town Talk the child, who died Tuesday, was not stabbed or shot. The death was ruled a homicide on Wednesday after an autopsy.
Miller and Harris, her live-in boyfriend, were arrested Wednesday and were booked into the Rapides Parish Jail, where they remain. Each has a bond of $500,000.
It could not be determined whether the suspects have attorneys.
