ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - Authorities say a 15-year-old boy is
facing a negligent homicide charge in the death of a 16-year-old boy who died Wednesday from injuries suffered when he was set on fire with a cigarette lighter.
The Rapides Parish Sheriff's Office has not releasing the name of the victim.
Deputies say that three boys were playing with gasoline in the Deville community northeast of Alexandria on Sunday. Investigators say the gasoline was accidently spilled on the 16-year-old, and the 15-year-old began taunting the 16-year-old with a cigarette lighter.
Deputies say the 16-year-old was accidently set on fire by the lighter and suffered burns on more than 65 percent of his body. He died Wednesday at a Baton Rouge hospital.
The third boy at the scene was not arrested.
