Some Ragin Cajun fans have been waiting over fifty years to see their favorite team win a bowl game.
Ken Ardoin was set to attend LSU in the 1960s, but a last minute trip to Lafayette changed his mind.
He said, "a buddy said he was coming down. He asked me if I wanted to ride. I had nothing to do so I rode. I was on this campus four hours. I can't tell you what it was but it still ignites many people."
He went home to Alexandria to tell his father the good news.
Ardoin said, "he dropped the fork on his plate and said 'I want to know what went on down there today'."
Ardoin has been a die-hard Ragin Cajun fan from that day on, even moving across the country to Chicago couldn't keep him away from Cajun Field.
"I bought my four chair backs in the upper deck on the 45 yard line." he said. "I've had those seats since 1985, and I would fly in and fly out and ever since I've just been part of it all."
This is the second time he'll be watching them take the field to play in a bowl game.
Ardoin said, "years ago I'd get nervous. I don't get nervous about the out come I get excited about getting there."
