Boustany Asks President to Include Cameron Parish

CAMERON, La. (AP) - U.S. Rep. Charles Boustany is asking President Obama to include southwest Louisiana on his upcoming trip to the Gulf Coast.
The president said this week that he will visit the coast by the middle of October, thereby keeping a campaign pledge to do so within a year of taking office.
Boustany, a Lafayette Republican, sent a letter to Obama on Thursday asking that the trip include a stop in Cameron Parish, which was badly damaged in Hurricane Rita in 2005 and again by
Hurricane Ike last year.
The White House has not yet released the trip's itinerary.
