Bossier, Webster water study

MINDEN, La. (AP) - A Bossier Parish study begun in 2010 may be revived to see in a dormant Camp Minden water treatment facility could supply water to rural areas of both Bossier and Webster parishes.
The study was the first leg of a seven-phase study to evaluate Camp Minden's water supply system to see if it could be expanded.
The 15,000-acre military site is home to three wells that draw water from the Carrizo-Wilcox Aquifer and a dormant water treatment plant that pulls water from Dorcheat Bayou.
According to the Times, the facility was built in 1992 to process high-quality water for a munitions contract but was shuttered or laid away when the contract fell through.
