Bond set for Kaplan man charged with vehicular homicide

Bond for a Kaplan man charged with vehicular homicide is set at $51,5000. Kade Abshire, 23, is accused of having a blood alcohol level of .160g% - twice the legal limit, according to State Trooper Stephen Hammons. The passenger in Abshire's vehicle, 23-year-old Pete Johnson of Kaplan, who was also not restrained, died as a result of his injuries. He was pronounced dead by the Vermilion Parish Coroner.
