Bombs, child porn found in Morgan City daycare

On Friday, Morgan City Police found three pipe bombs at a home on Allison Street.
Officers charged 17-year-old Thomas Breaux with manufacturing the bombs but he also faces charges of sexual battery of a minor and child porn. And all this, at a home that also served as a day care center.

"Our detectives division has an open line with all the parents that have children that went to this residence." Police Chief Marc Folse says, "we're making contact with them and allowing them to contact us."

Chief Folse says detectives were investigating 17-year-old Thomas Breaux after a single allegation of molesting a six-year-old girl.
When police searched his home, they found more than they bargained for including a trio of homemade pipe bombs. One of those bombs was made to detonate on impact.
Of the three explosives, Folse says two of them were active and destroyed by State Police.

"Nothing was indicated to us about the usage of the bombs." Folse says, "that's what we're hoping to uncover in the forensic investigation."

State police say any homemade explosive is extremely dangerous and Chief Folse believes the bombs even had the potential to harm neighbors.
A scary thought for DeeDee Duval, who lives just down the street.

"That house has a day care center." She says, "There's kids there every day. Some of the employees I work with, their grandkids go there."

Detectives also found enough evidence to charge Breaux with possession of child porn and sexual battery of a minor.
Chief Folse says the investigation continues but more charges seem unlikely.
