The Town of Arnaudville had to shut off part of its water system September 11, 2013 to repair a water leak. The customers in the following areas were affected by the shut-off:
Approximately ¼ mile up Thomassee Road to the end of the water line
Because of the shut-off, the water supply system in those areas is of questionable microbiological quality.
Therefore, as a precaution, the Town of Arnaudville water supply system is issuing a BOIL ADVISORY effective immediately. This BOIL ADVISORY is to remain in effect until rescinded by the Town of Arnaudville water supply system.
It is recommended that all customers disinfect their water before consuming it (including fountain drinks), making ice, brushing teeth, using it for food preparation or rinsing of foods by the following means:
Boil water for one (1) full minute in a clean container. The one minute starts after the water has been brought to a tolling boil. (The flat taste can be eliminated by shaking the water in a clean bottle, pouring it from one container to another, or by adding a pinch of salt to each quart of water that is boiled.
