Body of missing boater found

COLFAX, La. (AP) - Grant Parish sheriff's deputies say the body of a 69-year-old Dry Prong man was recovered from the Red River near the Colfax Recreation Area.
The Town Talk reports the man was identified as Jesse B. Mercer Jr.
Deputies say rough water caused Mercer to be thrown from his boat Wednesday around 1:20 p.m.
Officials searched for him until it became too dark Wednesday, then began again Thursday morning.
His body was found around 9:20 a.m.
