NATCHITOCHES, La. (AP) Natchitoches Parish Sheriff's deputies say a body recovered over the weekend might be that of woman who disappeared in December.
Sheriff Victor Jones said a fisherman discovered the corpse of a white woman Saturday morning in Johnson Chute Bayou. Officials have said the body likely is Clara Patty Bynog.
Jones said in a news release that DNA analysis will determine a positive identification.
On March 2, investigators arrested 37-year-old Morgan Prothro of Natchitoches, and booked him with second-degree murder in connection with Bynog's disappearance. Prothro remains in the Natchitoches Detention Center.
It wasn't immediately clear if Prothro has an attorney.
