Body found in Zachary

ZACHARY, La. (AP) Zachary police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found on the side of a road.
Police Chief John Herty said an employee of the Department of Public Works found the body about 7:15 a.m. Monday.
Although the body was covered in blood, Herty said the cause of death could not be immediately determined.
The chief said police had made a tentative identification of the victim, but a positive identification will not be made until the coroner's office and state police crime lab finish their investigations at the scene.
