Body Found in Pool Ruled a Drowning

Lafayette Police have ruled the body found in an apartment complex is a drowning. At approximately 9:00am Sunday, police responded to the 100 block of Edie Ann Drive. According to investigators, the 57 year old male victim was last seen swimming in the pool at 6:00am this morning by witnesses. The victim was later found in the pool by witnesses at 9:00am unresponsive. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene, and foul play is not suspected. The name of the victim is being withheld pending notification of his next of kin. The incident remains under investigation.
