GRETNA, La. (AP) Harbor Police have recovered a body from the Mississippi River.
Police tell WWL-TV that a fuel company employee spotted the body floating in the river near Gretna around 7 a.m. Tuesday.
Police did not say whether the body was a male or female and are working to identify the person.
Gretna Police Chief Arthur Lawson said the cause of death has not been determined.
Police say an autopsy will be conducted Wednesday to determine the cause of death.
