ROANOKE, La. (AP) - Jefferson Davis Parish authorities say the body of a woman reported missing in Texas has been found in a car near Roanoke, about five miles west of Jennings.
Dr. Charles Deese, the deputy coroner, identified her Thursday as 33-year-old Stefanie McKenzie of Humble. He says he is still investigating the cause of death, and would not speculate.
Neither Deese nor Chief Criminal Deputy Larry Dupuis knew when McKenzie was reported missing.
Dupuis said Thursday that investigators don't suspect foul play, but suicide or an accidental overdose are being investigated as possibilities.
McKenzie and a car also reported missing from Humble were found Wednesday, in a field.
