WASHINGTON, La. (AP) St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz says one of a dozen people getting a barge ride as part of a new festival pointed out a body in Bayou Courtableau.

The Daily World reports that an autopsy will be performed to learn what caused the death of 25-year-old Andrus Rideau of Washington. Rideau had last been seen on Tuesday, and his family had reported him missing to the Washington Police Department.

Guidroz says he was giving barge rides on the bayou Saturday as part of the Geno Delafose Fishing Rodeo and Concert at the Washington Festival Grounds. He says he was about a mile downstream from the festival grounds when someone noticed the body.

He says he took the passengers including nine children to the festival boat landing, then led a search and rescue crew to retrieve the body.
