Body found in Atchafalaya River

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (AP) - St. Martin Parish sheriff's deputies say an unidentified man's body has been recovered from the Atchafalaya River.
Deputies say they received a call at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from a tug boat operator regarding a body floating in an area also known as Pilot Channel.
The Advocate reports the area where the body was found is in the southern part of the parish near Iberia Parish line. Authorities with the sheriff's office and state Department of Wildlife and Fisheries recovered the man's body shortly before noon.
An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
