MORGAN CITY, La. (AP) - A boater had to be treated for hypothermia after he was rescued from a sandbar during a search launched by St. Mary Parish authorities.

The St. Mary Sheriff's office says 22-year-old Justin Price of Morgan City had been hunting when his boat was stuck on a sand bar. The boat drifted away while Price tried to build a fire on the sandbar.

The sheriff's water patrol began a search effort involving volunteers and multiple state and local agencies after Price's boat was spotted adrift.

Price was found Thursday night in the Flat lake area.
