The Morgan City Power Boat Association will host the 2013 Atchafalaya Eastern Divisionals, Inboard Racing at its Finest, on June 29th & 30th, 2013, at the Lake Palourde Parkway in Morgan City, Louisiana. This summer will mark the 51st Anniversary of racing since being incorporated, and every class of boat racing will take place at this event.
Tickets will be $10.00 at the gate per person/per day; children 12 and under get in free all weekend when accompanied by a parent or guardian.
A tentative schedule for race times are the following: Saturday, June 29th, races will begin at 10:00 am and Sunday, June 30th, boat races will begin at 11:00 am.
Nonprofit organizations will man concessions with a variety of food, soft drinks and beer booths. T-shirts, hats, tank tops and koozies will be for sale throughout the weekend. Festival organizers are not allowing guests to bring ice chests into the park. Park & city policy state that glass, open fires or BBQ pits, pets, and firearms are not allowed on the property.
This year's event will have fun jumps for kid's to enjoy throughout the weekend, and on Saturday, June 29th, live entertainment by Gone Pecan and Boat Trash will take place from 7:00 to 11:00 pm. A fireworks show, provided by the City of Morgan City, will also take place on Saturday beginning at 9:00 pm on Lake Palourde. Live musical performances and fireworks show will be free events for the public.
This year's queen, McKenzie Anslum, will be crowned at the "Pit Party," on Saturday evening following the conclusion of the last race.
