St. Landry Parish President Bill Fontenot will be on Capitol Hill tomorrow to discuss federal road legislation.
Fontenot will testify before the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee to provide a local perspective on the reauthorization of the bill titled Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century, or MAP-21.
The legislation was signed into law by President Obama in 2012. The act provided more than $105 billion over two years to fund surface transportation programs in the United States.
Louisiana has received more than $600 million in federal funds under MAP-21 during fiscal years 2013 and 2014.
