The LSU Eunice baseball team wrapped up a four-game weekend sweep over visiting Kellogg Community College with an 8-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.
The Bengals (14-1) plated two runs in the bottom of the first inning and never looked back, adding three runs in the fifth, two runs in the sixth and a final run in the eighth inning in the shutout win.
Brennan Bozeman led the way with a 3-for-4 afternoon, adding an RBI, while Stefan Trosclair tallied two hits and two RBIs. Kyle St. Pierre and Tyler Chapman each notched a hit and an RBI, Sam Walley had a hit and Jordan Romero (0-4) finished with an RBI as well.
Bozeman, Trosclair and Walley each collected doubles in the win.
Zach Hamilton earned his second win of the season after tossing six innings and allowing just four hits and a walk while striking out five batters.
Ben Braymer pitched the seventh, striking out one, while Will Bacon, O.J. Latin and Ryan Domingue all combined to record an out in the eighth before Jevin Huval wrapped up the ninth with a pair of strikeouts.
The Bengals got on the board with a pair of RBI groundouts from St. Pierre and Romero before adding to the lead in the fifth on RBI singles by Bozeman and Chapman, as well as a Kellogg wild pitch. Trosclair's two-run double pushed the lead higher in the sixth before the final run came in the eighth inning when Bozeman doubled and scored on a wild pitch.
LSU Eunice will hit the road to take on Chipola College this weekend in a four-game series beginning Friday night, with a doubleheader on Saturday before Sunday's finale.
