The LSU Eunice baseball team had an offensive explosion on Saturday afternoon, scoring 26 runs in a rout over Murray State in the second of the team's three-game series.
The Bengals (8-0) scored a single run in the first inning before tacking on four runs in both the second and third innings, and then adding seven runs in the fourth and eight runs in the fifth inning before two final runs in the sixth.
"It was a day offensively that everything seemed to go our way," head coach Jeff Willis said.
"It is important for our guys to understand that nothing carries over to tomorrow and Murray State will be ready to play. I fully expect a very good game tomorrow with both teams showing up and playing hard," he added.
LSU Eunice finished with 21 hits and drew nine walks from Murray State (3-4) pitching.
Tyler Chapman led the offensive attack with four hits - two of them home runs - and eight RBI, while Stefan Trosclair, Ray Veit, Buddy McCoy, Keagan Kratzer, Kyle St. Pierre and C.J. Womack each finished with two hits.
Kratzer drove home four RBI, while Dalton DeLeon, Garrett Deschamp, Landon Thibodeaux and Trosclair each brought home two RBI.
Kratzer and Derek Herrington each belted a home run along with Chapman's pair, while the Bengals connected on five doubles as well.
On the mound, Chad Reeves got his first start of the season, going four innings, allowing just three hits and two runs while striking out five batters to keep Murray State in check at the plate.
The Bengals and Murray State wrap up their three-game set tomorrow afternoon with a 1 p.m. first pitch.
Tomorrow's game can be seen on Bengal All-Access and heard on KVPI 1050 AM.
