It's been a long winter, anyone who is east of the Rockies (with the exception of south Florida) have put up with a continuous onslaught of cold air and winter storms.
After a few months of this it's time to enjoy some sunshine and warmer temperatures, after all with the winter we've had we deserve it.
You couldn't ask for a more pleasant forecast for Thursday, sunshine will be in abundance across the area with no clouds in sight.
Although highs will be a little cooler then normal this doesn't say much as highs will still make it into the mid and even upper 60s.
High pressure will slide east Thursday night opening up the door for some return flow and more clouds on Friday evening.
This is when the forecast becomes less clear, a system coming off the Rockies looks to make an impact on south Louisiana.
The forecast challenge is how big of an impact this will have, depending on which model you subscribe to you could end up with wildly different answers.
As of Thursday it looks like showers will be moving in Saturday night, with one or two storms that could end up fairly strong.
Be sure to stay tuned to KATC for the latest details through the rest of the week.
