The Department of Health and Hospitals (DHH) is continuing to roll out its new program called BAYOU HEALTH. This is a new way for Louisiana's approximately 900,000 Medicaid and LaCHIP recipients to receive health care services. BAYOU HEALTH, which consists of five different Health Plans, gives recipients the opportunity to choose the Health Plan that meets their needs. A major policy initiative for the Jindal Administration, BAYOU HEALTH is expected to improve access to care for our beneficiaries, while also reducing the cost to the state.

We would like to offer a representative from DHH to appear on your morning show to offer insight into the new program and to educate the more than 250,000 residents in the Capital Area region who receive these benefits.

The enrollment period for the Capital Area, Lafayette, and Houma/Terrebonne regions began on February 15 and ends on March 28.
