HOUMA, La. (AP) - A Maserati seized from a drug dealer in Terrebonne Parish sold on eBay for $33,250, but it hasn't been turned over to its new owner yet.
The sheriff's office says the sale to a Kenner man was completed Jan. 19. But, although the car was advertised as being in mint condition, it turned out it needed repairs.
The Maserati is currently at a dealership in Houston awaiting a new battery and repairs for problems associated with a dead battery, according to a report in The Courier. Also, several of its parts are under recall. It's unclear when the car will be ready for its new owner.
Meanwhile, a sheriff's spokesman says the sheriff's office has not cashed the buyer's cashier's check. The spokesman said the buyer still wants the car.
