BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - A 47-year-old Baton Rouge man has been arrested for allegedly stealing bingo money over the holidays and falsifying paperwork.
Pepino D. Thomas was booked Monday on counts of filing false public records, a felony, and misdemeanor theft.
According to an affidavit of probable cause. a state Department of Revenue agent received a tip that Thomas had not run bingo sessions he reported having on Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve.
The affidavit said an audit of paperwork submitted by Thomas for the two fake sessions revealed that he allegedly stole $145 from the Christmas Eve session and $284 from the New Year's Eve session.
It was unclear whether Thomas has an attorney.
